Wired's Gadget Blog claims to have last minute details on the thin MacBook that is expected to be released tomorrow at Steve Jobs' Keynote address. While Wired's Gadget Blog has not been a traditional source of Apple rumors, we presume they have a degree of confidence in this report to print it.
According to the Gadget Blog, the new laptop is "unbelievably thin" and incorporates the same black-on-silver look that has infiltrated Apple's other consumer products. The laptop itself is described as a tapering design, thicker towards the top and...

Apple wants to patent a process that will save customers the hassle of waiting to order a cup of coffee at a local Starbucks or a fresh burger at the nearest fast food restaurant. Even better: The technology would let you jump the line of those ordering in person.
In an application with the U.S. Patent Office filed on Dec. 20, the Cupertino, Calif.-based computer and gadget company described a wireless system that would allow customers to place an order at a store using a wireless device such as a media player, a wireless personal digital...

Apple is in advanced talks with Hollywood’s largest movie studios about launching an online film rental service to challenge cable and satellite TV operators.
The service could be significant for Apple. If it signs enough studios, the group will get access to more premium film content. A film would cost $2.99 for a 30-day rental. Its digital rights-management software would allow films to be moved from a computer to at least one other device such as the video iPod or iPhone.

Engadget posted a story Wednesday morning claiming that Apple was about to announce another delay of Leopard, the next version of Mac OS X, as well as a delay for the iPhone.
"This one doesn't bode well for Mac fans and the iPhone-hopeful: we have it on authority that as of today, the iPhone launch is being pushed back from June to... October (!), and Leopard is again seeing a delay, this time being pushed all the way back to January,"
Apple's stock immediately plunged 2.2 percent as investors contemplated another product delay at...

Apple is rather cheeky with this advertisement insinuating that every Windows machine on the market comes with preloaded trial software, yet another generalized sweeping statement to diminish the PC industry

Well, looks like the rumors were true despite Apple's repeated denials - OS X 10.5 "Leopard" will miss its Spring launch and has been pushed back until October and Apple is officially blaming the iPhone for the delay. They had to redistribute team members to make sure that device would ship on time...

Apple is expected to launch its next generation Leopard OS in April, but according to industry sources, the release of the new OS will be postponed to October to allow Apple to make Leopard support Windows Vista through an integrated version of its Boot Camp software.
The sources pointed out that the launch delay is not due to software design problems with Leopard but instead is attributed to Apple's plan to have its new OS support Windows Vista through an integrated version of Boot Camp. Boot Camp is an Apple software application that...

Apple's marketing machine has done it again.
While the biggest names in tech were in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show in January showing off new gadgets and gizmos, Apple gambled it could extract attention in San Francisco for a sneak-peek debut of the iPhone, the combination music player/cellphone and Internet device.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs' bet paid off like a gushing Vegas jackpot. The avalanche of headlines and TV news stories about the iPhone - which hits the market in June - already have generated $400 million in free...
